# Capital.com review

[Home](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/) › [Guides](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/learn/) › [Capital.com](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/capital-com/)

Capital.com is a [CFD](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#cfd) broker, and you can trade with it on its own web platform and app, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or TradingView. This page covers its Bahamas company, the one you reach from Latin America or South-east Asia, which the Securities Commission of The Bahamas regulates. The minimum deposit for this company is 10 by card, and it charges no fee for deposits or withdrawals. The Bahamas company provides [negative balance protection](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#negative-balance-protection) for [retail clients](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#retail-client). You can pick your country below to see which Capital.com company you would be with.

## Capital.com at a glance

Capital.com stands out for its platforms, the low entry point it offers and the protection it gives retail clients, though there’s one thing to weigh up.

- **Four ways to trade**: Its own web platform and app, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and TradingView ([trading platforms](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/trading-platforms/)).
- **A 10 minimum deposit**: By card or Apple Pay, with no deposit or withdrawal fee, and USDT deposits for verified clients in 8 of the 11 countries ([account types](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/trading-account-types/)).
- **Negative balance protection**: Retail clients of the Bahamas company get it, applied to each account separately.
- **What to weigh up**: Its market pages show less [leverage](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#leverage) than its terms allow ([offshore brokers](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/offshore-brokers/)).

## Leverage at Capital.com’s Bahamas company

[Leverage](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#leverage) at Capital.com’s Bahamas company, under its terms ([terms](https://capital.com/terms-and-conditions-bah)), can go up to 200:1 for retail clients. Each market page gives its own [margin](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#margin), and 1% margin means 100:1 ([maximum leverage](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/maximum-leverage/)). With more leverage you take bigger positions, so you face bigger losses and bigger gains.

- **Up to 100:1 on gold**: The gold market page gives 1% margin, or 100:1 ([gold](https://capital.com/en-int/markets/commodities/gold-spot-commodity)).
- **Up to 100:1 on forex**: EUR/USD and the other major pairs show 1% margin, also 100:1 ([EUR/USD](https://capital.com/en-int/markets/forex/euro-us-dollar-rate-2)).
- **Up to 100:1 on oil**: US crude shows 1% margin as well, so 100:1 ([US crude](https://capital.com/en-int/markets/commodities/us-crude-oil-spot-commodity-1)).
- **Up to 20:1 on crypto and shares**: Bitcoin and Apple each show 5% margin, or 20:1 ([Bitcoin](https://capital.com/en-int/markets/cryptocurrencies/bitcoin-to-us-dollar-chart), [Apple](https://capital.com/en-int/markets/shares/apple-inc-share-price)).

## Is Capital.com regulated where you live?

Capital.com is regulated in every country it serves here. Where you live usually decides which Capital.com company takes you on, and your [leverage](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#leverage) and protections come from [the company that opens your account](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/broker-groups-and-regulators/) and its regulator. Someone in the United Kingdom is usually placed with Capital Com (UK) Limited, which the [FCA](https://www.fca.org.uk/) regulates. Its UK site offers both [spread bets](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#spread-bet) and CFDs ([spread betting page](https://capital.com/en-gb/ways-to-trade/spread-betting)), and states that crypto derivatives are not available to its UK retail clients ([UK site](https://capital.com/en-gb)).

In Germany, you usually go to Capital Com SV Investments Limited, regulated by [CySEC](https://www.cysec.gov.cy/) in Cyprus. Someone in Colombia or Malaysia usually gets the global company, Capital Com Online Investments Ltd, licensed by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas. The global company offers more leverage, up to 200:1 for retail clients, but fewer protections than the UK, EU and Australian companies. The last column shows what the global company’s own terms say about your country.

Even if the Bahamas company takes you on, the group also holds licences from the [FCA](https://www.fca.org.uk/), [CySEC](https://www.cysec.gov.cy/) and [ASIC](https://asic.gov.au/). Each licence appears on that regulator’s register. Capital.com says it also holds licences in the UAE, Bermuda, Kenya and South Africa ([Capital.com](https://capital.com/en-int/press/capital-com-enters-south-africa-under-dual-fsca-regulatory-licence)). Those regulators check the group’s ownership and management, and they make the group’s companies in their countries follow their capital and client money rules. But those rules protect only those companies’ clients.

## Funding

Funding is by card, Apple Pay or bank wire. The fees page says none of these methods costs anything. The help centre adds Skrill and Neteller in every country except Australia and the UK, and includes Google Pay everywhere. PayPal is listed only for Australia and Europe, so none of the countries the Bahamas company serves gets PayPal. The [comparison page](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/compare-brokers/) shows the same facts for every other broker. Because the broker can change these terms and those in the by-country table below at its own discretion, always double-check them on the broker’s own website before you deposit.

| Withdrawal time | Usually handled within 24 hours, up to 5 business days to reach a card or bank account |

*These figures were checked on 30 September 2026. Confirm them with the broker before you open an account.*

## Funding, by country

Funding through a local [payment rail](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/payment-rails-by-country/) is only available in Chile and Colombia, where you can use Webpay and PSE. For Chile, the help centre mentions Khipu and Mach as well, but the payment rails page doesn’t show them. Verified clients can make USDT deposits from any country except Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, where only ordinary money is accepted.

*What a resident of each country can use to fund an account: cards, the payment rails local to the country that the group accepts, whether a crypto deposit is taken from there and the minimum deposit at the company that serves it.*

## Every company in the group

Every company in the Capital.com group listed here appears on its regulator’s register or published list. The companies in the UK, EU and Australia are authorised by the FCA, CySEC and ASIC. A Bermuda company appears on the Bermuda Monetary Authority’s list. The Bahamas company is on the Securities Commission of The Bahamas’ list of licensed firms ([SCB list](https://scb.gov.bs/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/SIA-Firms-as-at-30-September-2026-1.pdf)). Its licence number, SIA-F245, appears in its site footer but the list of licensed firms doesn’t show numbers. The Bahamas company’s terms exclude residents of the United States but name none of the countries covered here. The company publishes no list of the countries it accepts.

## What its terms and market pages say about leverage

Capital.com’s Bahamas terms say retail leverage "shall be up to 1:200" on everything except digital assets, which are capped at 20:1. Its professional page says [professional clients](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#professional-client) may use up to 500:1 on major forex pairs, major indices, gold and oil. Professional clients get up to 100:1 on crypto and 33:1 on major shares ([professional page](https://capital.com/en-int/professional)). There are no exposure tiers, and no notice period is published for leverage changes.

The story from the market pages is different. Every page states a [margin](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#margin) rate, and every forex pair and commodity in the comparison comes to 100:1. Gold, natural gas, copper and the major pairs share that number, even though other brokers usually give them distinct figures. Crypto and shares both come to 20:1.

Another clause lets the company set leverage for each instrument at any level up to the 200:1 cap. So the flat 100:1 looks like a default the pages show, not a fixed limit. You’ll find each instrument’s figure on the [comparison page](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/compare-brokers/#coverage), and for Alphabet the figure is for the class C share.

## Common questions about Capital.com

Each answer about Capital.com here applies only to its Bahamas company.

### Is Capital.com regulated?

Yes, Capital.com is regulated. Its Bahamas company, Capital Com Online Investments Ltd, holds a licence from the Securities Commission of The Bahamas and is on the commission’s list of licensed firms. The company’s website footer shows the licence number SIA-F245. The UK, EU and Australian companies of Capital.com have authorisation from the FCA, CySEC and ASIC.

### Which Capital.com company would I be with?

The company would usually be Capital Com (UK) Limited in the UK, Capital Com SV Investments Limited in the EU and Capital Com Australia Pty Ltd in Australia. The rules on your account come from whichever company opens it and that company’s regulator.

### What leverage does Capital.com offer?

Capital.com offers up to 200:1 to retail clients under its Bahamas terms (20:1 on digital assets), with the market pages showing 100:1 on forex and commodities and 20:1 on crypto and shares.

### What is Capital.com’s minimum deposit?

Capital.com lists a minimum deposit of 10 for card or Apple Pay, and 50 euros or the equivalent for bank wire, on its fees page. An older help-centre article states the minimum deposit is 20.

### Does Capital.com offer MT4, MT5 or TradingView?

Capital.com offers all three at its Bahamas company ([MetaTrader](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/metatrader-4-and-5/)). On its UK site you’ll find MetaTrader 4 and TradingView listed, but MetaTrader 5 isn’t there. That means MT5 for UK clients is not established ([UK MT4 page](https://capital.com/en-gb/trading-platforms/mt4)). Capital.com also provides its own web platform and app.

### Does Capital.com have negative balance protection?

Yes, for retail clients of the Bahamas company, applied to each account separately.

## Opening a Capital.com account

You open a Capital.com account through the group’s own sign-up. In the 11 countries covered here, that account is with the Bahamas company, the only Capital.com company this site covers. The Bahamas company’s name is on your account documents, so you can check it there. If you’re not sure, Capital.com’s customer support can tell you which company holds your account. Read the risk warning below before you put money in.

## A well-regulated counterparty doesn’t make the product safe

> **Risk warning.** A well-regulated [counterparty](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/glossary/#counterparty), the firm on the other side of your trade, only protects you if it fails while holding your money. It does nothing when the price moves against you, and that’s far more likely. Before opening any account, read the [risk disclosure](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/risk-disclosure/) and the [maximum leverage](https://thetraderwiki.com/en/maximum-leverage/) page.
